We strive to create fitness and better the body through researched methods and complete programs. My goal, too, is to help the body heal itself naturally. When your body is truly healthy and balanced, you will move pain-free and ultimately arrive effortlessly at optimal fitness levels and proper weight. We want to help educate you on living a new and improved lifestyle. Our doctors have spent over 25 years researching and testing methods with thousands of patients. We strive to create fitness and better body health through researched methods and complete programs. These programs are natural and use the body's ability to achieve improvement goals, rather than introducing harmful chemicals, controversial hormone replacement, surgery, or addictive drugs. We were hoping you could live a fulfilled life with more energy, a positive attitude, better sleep, less pain, proper body weight, and education on maintaining this way of life. The focus on spinal and skeletal adjustments makes doctors of chiropractic unique in their approach to treating patients with spinal complaints. However, this hallmark chiropractic adjustment is not the only procedure a chiropractor may employ in managing a patient's care. I am proud to bring my patients various treatment options beyond a typical chiropractic center's scope of responsibility. With the advances in physical therapies and modalities, we bring El Paso options that better aid in the rehabilitation process. Tissue healing is a beautiful process that begins the moment an injury occurs. How the damage is managed determines the outcome concerning healing. We must implement immediate procedures as soon as possible to gain optimal recovery. The old day of letting it rest until it gets better is not the only option. Letting it rest may be irresponsible, considering what we now know. Implementing active and movement-based treatments has clearly shown increased and improved outcomes in many instances. As doctors focus on the greater good, we must assess each patient individually and apply the appropriate protocols. It is also essential to denote that El Paso has fine doctors in many specialties of healing and repair. The direct relationship with the specialists in these disciplines clearly allows us to bring our patients the highest quality of care. My promise to my patients is stated for all to read here. With God's help, I will do whatever it takes to assist you in your recovery. I, too, will draw upon all the specialists in this town to find you the required collaborative care with the disorders being tended to. Warm Regards to you. My passion is for people. When they thrive- I thrive. I strive to make a positive and memorable impact on each person’s life I come into. My passion for people and health began at a young age. Starting with competitive sports as a child and into high school, I was truly amazed at what the human body was capable of. In 2010, at the age of 13, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. From here, my passion for the healthcare world blossomed. I became very familiar with doctors, blood work, and patient care. In turn, I got to learn more about not only my body but how much work truly goes into maintaining the body’s fragile systems and how precise our hormone levels have to be. When it came time to decide on a major and what college to go to, I proudly chose Grand Canyon University. The strong ethics they have and prestigious healthcare majors were right up my alley! I graduated from Grand Canyon University in 3.5 years with a bachelors of science in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Health Education. After graduation, I continued to get my Exercise Physiologist Certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). As previously mentioned, I am truly fascinated by how amazing the human body is. One thing I love specifically about it is the ability it has to heal itself. With the proper supplementation, diet, and knowledge, the body can make incredible changes. This is where Functional Medicine comes in. Functional medicine is treating the body and the cause of an issue the individual is having at the root cause, not just covering up the symptoms. When a patient comes in, we start with a very detailed history. This history typically takes about 45 minutes to complete but allows us to gain a new perspective on what is occurring in the body. After this is completed, it is assessed at a one-on-one appointment with Dr. Jimenez, myself (Kenna Vaughn, Senior Health Coach) and the patient. At this appointment, we will decide what labs to run to give us a better direction and understanding of the levels that are currently in the body. The labs we use give us extensive results and information. The importance of these labs is patient health, so we use over 12 different companies to ensure we are getting the best quality of results per patient. Every plan we create is individualized and personalized per patient. We understand that the human body is not a one plan fixes all. What works best for one person will not work best for the next. One of my favorite parts of creating these personalized plans and working with patients is the nutraceutical and coaching aspect. The nutraceuticals we use are free of wheat, gluten, corn, yeast, soy, animal or dairy products, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, artificial colors, artificial sweeteners, or artificial preservatives. The certain nutraceuticals we recommended per patient depends on their blood work and the specific health goals we have created together as a team. Part of being a team means having people to keep you accountable. As a health coach, I personally stick by the patient’s side every step of the way. Technology today really helps us take our patients to the next level. The clinic has an app, “Dr. J Today” that allows me to view the daily food and supplement intake of our patients. In addition to this, it pairs with a smartwatch that tracks activity and steps. Not only does it pair with a watch, but it pairs with a scale as well. This scale does not measure just weight, but water weight, body fat change, lean mass change, BMI and BMR. Having all of these components together truly allows me to have an inside view on progress and keep individuals motivated. I also have the ability to instant message patients through the app to answer any quick questions they have outside of their weekly video chat check-ins, also performed through the app. Lastly, a critical part of the body that is often overlooked is the feet. In the office, a scan of each patient’s feet is taken and carefully assessed. From here, I am able to tell the pressure they are putting on their feet and the differences they have in their arches. This allows a comprehensive alignment of their ankles, knees, hips, and spine. The body is a chain reaction and all works together. If the feet are causing problems, added stress and strain is being put on the body. I have the ability to order custom 3-D printed orthotics to help get patients back on the right foot!

Presenting Truide Torres Jimenez. Clinic Director: Injury Medical Clinic PA & Patient Relations Advocate & WAY More) Focused on patient care and medical-legal Issues, Trudie is ready and prepared to help all patients in need. "I will find a way to help you. No matter what!" Truide has been working for the past 20 years in claims resolutions. She works hand in hand with patients and is available to resolve dispute resolutions. She also works as the patient liaison for clinical and legal matters. Truide Torres Jimenez (Brief Bio & Her Personal Message) Driven by the passion of doing what is in the best interest of the patient, I wake up every morning with the drive to help those in need. The claims process for health care is full of pits, valleys, and difficult obstacles designed to strike fear in those in need. My duty is to do what is within the confines of the law, “whatever it takes” to get those involved to pay attention to those who need help. That is what I am honored to do for our patients. My Purpose: In finding my purpose, I find the bigger “Why” behind my business. This is essential in the challenges I have seen in these times. Each day, I search for God’s message in my purpose which I pray takes me to another level. At the end of the day, I too do not want to work for the sake of working. As humans and God-fearing individuals, we like to know we’re in alignment with what we feel we are called to do. So getting with my purpose and my “why” has always so important to me. I love people and I want to help them, especially when they are in need. My Commitment As defined, commitment is “the state or quality of being dedicated to cause activity, etc” Without commitment, it is difficult, if not impossible to push through challenges to reach our goals. My commitment is to serve my fellow person in their clinical needs and find the right solution for them. My Dedication: “The quality of being dedicated or committed to a task or purpose is what I strive daily for every day”. I have always told my children, that once you have a purpose, you commit to it and you see it through. I too try to live my life by those words. Yes, its work, and there is no substitute other than to dig in and get it done. There is no substitute for practice and preparation. Our success with our patients has always been dependent on the level of effort we as a team has been able to mutually focus on with our independent and prioritized tasks. I commit to being dedicated to our God-directed purpose. Perseverance I believe that to persevere, you must show continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failures, or oppositions. With our patients and those we assist, we face many challenges and at times need and pray for the ability to push through and pick ourselves up when down. I can only imagine how my clients feel. For that reason, I push harder to help them. Simply put, each challenge we as a team overcomes, the closer we can help our patients and those in need. We stay the course and overcome the fear and struggles our patients have and help them clinically persevere. Personally, I have seen great injustices transpire on those that do NOT have a voice in today’s world. Whether, a language barrier or just not knowing the rules. My job is to find out how I can help. If I personally can not help, I will find the right sources to open the possibilities. I get the job done. As a wife and mother of 2 children, 2 dogs, and 3 cats. My passion is for God, Family, and the mission of serving my fellow man. Modern chiropractic started in the late 1800s when Daniel David Palmer, a self-educated teacher, healer, and chiropractor performed the very first spinal manipulation on a patient. Chiropractic is the third most significant area of medicine today. The word chiropractic comes from Greek words meaning “treatment by hand,” which is exactly what chiropractors do—they use their hands to manipulate the body and promote healing and wellness. A doctor of chiropractic (DC), chiropractor or chiropractic physician, is a health professional who is trained to diagnose and treat disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. Chiropractors treat patients of all ages, infants, children, and adults. They believe in a traditional (non-surgical) hands-on method of treating these disorders. Chiropractor El Paso, TX Back Clinic The chiropractic philosophy is dependant on the following belief statements: All bodily functions are connected as well as the healing process requires the entire body. A healthy nervous system, especially the spine, is the crucial factor in your healthy body. The spinal cord carries advice throughout the body and is accountable for many bodily functions including voluntary movements (such as walking) and involuntary functions (like respiration). When the systems of the body have been in equilibrium, it is called homeostasis. Disorders of the bones, muscles, and nerves increase the risk of disease along with other health problems and can disrupt homeostasis. When body systems are in harmony, the human anatomy gets the extraordinary ability to keep well-being and treat itself. They use traditional diagnostic testing strategies (like x-rays, MRI, and laboratory work) along with specific chiropractic techniques that involve hands-on manipulation of the articulations (joints) of the body. Chiropractors also offer nutrition and healthy lifestyle counseling. Chiropractors elect not to prescribe medication, plus they do not perform the operation; however, many chiropractors work with medical doctors and indeed will refer a patient when needed. Chiropractors believe among the main reasons for pain and disease is the misalignment of the vertebrae in the spinal column (this is known as a chiropractic subluxation). Through the usage of manual detection (or palpation), carefully applied pressure, massage, and manual manipulation of the vertebrae and joints (called adjustments), chiropractors can alleviate pressure and irritation on the nerves, restore joint mobility, and help return the body’s homeostasis. Some chiropractors dedicate their practices exclusively to finding and removing subluxations. But in addition to using manual adaptations, most chiropractors offer other treatment modalities such as the following: Physiotherapy Herbal therapy Heat/cold therapy Ultrasound Electric muscle stimulation Acupuncture Manipulation under anesthesia Traction Massage Exercise programs and teaching Lifestyle and nutrition counseling Physical rehabilitation Additionally, many chiropractors have much postgraduate training and become board certified in some specific areas of interest such as: Neurology Orthopedics Sports medicine Physical rehabilitation Nutrition Diagnostic Radiology Internal Disorders Pediatrics Forensic sciences What Chiropractors Treat Chiropractic Re-Adjustment El Paso, TX Back ClinicChiropractors diagnose and treat many different spinal disorders that cause musculoskeletal or nerve pain. Similar to other kinds of physicians, a chiropractor performs a neurological and physical examination as part of her or his process of making an accurate diagnosis. X-rays or CT scan studies may be ordered to confirm your diagnosis. This article highlights several spine-related problems that might be assessed and treated by chiropractic care. Back sprains/ strains the tight bands of tissue that hold bones become torn, or overstretched injuries are caused. Strains involve a muscle or a tendon. Either one can occur when you lift too much weight, play with a strenuous sport, or even bend or twist improperly during the day. The pain may be aching, burning, stabbing, tingling, sharp, or dull. Cervicogenic headaches are caused by known neck pain. The pain from this type of problem is usually felt behind the eyes, in the temples, in the back of the head. A headache may be confused for migraines or cluster headaches. Coccydynia is pain that develops in the spine’s tailbone. Some people who ride a bike for a long time or who fall may develop coccydynia, which may get worse when sitting. The pain starts without any cause.

A personal injury doctor or chiropractor is an effective, alternative treatment option for a variety of injuries surrounding the spine. When an individual has suffered an injury as a result of an auto accident, work accident or home accident a personal injury doctor can positively influence the proper progress of their rehabilitation, helping the individual obtain the fair compensation they need and deserve for their injuries. An experienced and well-trained personal injury doctor can provide quality treatment as well as support patients throughout their injury claim procedures. Personal Injury Doctor Receiving chiropractic care from a personal injury doctor after suffering an injury can be a lifesaver because the chiropractor has experience with automobile accident and personal injury claims. Also important is the personal injury chiropractor has attended post graduate training in accident injury evaluation and treatment which can guarantee a more effective diagnosis and care. An added bonus is that the chiropractor can do depositions and testify in court. Multiple Attorney Affiliation silhouetted lawyers el paso tx_01A personal injury doctor works closely with multiple attorneys. The best chiropractors maintain a list of attorneys they know can deliver quality results to their patients in car accident and personal injury cases. A doctor that has connections with more than one attorney offers a wide variety of experienced personal injury claim professionals to choose from, whom can better accommodate you to solve your specific case after an accident. Proper Medical Protocols and Care A personal injury doctor follows a specific protocol for cases involving car accident claims, mainly involving detailed intake information on the mechanism of injury, biomechanics and past medical history. A chiropractor who provides a multipage auto accident injury questionnaire filled with meaningful questions is best in that they provide the most appropriate and most detailed information regarding your situation to follow through with proper treatment. A detailed intake examination can often be a bit time consuming but a chiropractor who does this displays a positive interest in your case, ensuring that they are taking the time to know what happened to you and how it directly affected you. Treatment Plan: chiropractic freeway sign el paso tx A personal injury doctor will figure out the proper treatment according to an individual’s injuries and each is uniquely designed. Proper treatment protocol requires re-evaluations regularly and adjustment of the treatment plan according to how the individual is progressing. Whiplash: Chiropractic Evaluation The personal injury doctor or chiropractor will identify any areas of spinal injury, muscle strain, and joint movement. They may use a technique called motion and static palpation. Your chiropractor will feel for tenderness and make sure your spinal joints move. They may also use gentle stretching and manual treatment techniques (eg, muscle energy therapy, a type of extending). A treatment plan depends on the seriousness of the whiplash. The most common technique is spinal manipulation. Methods utilized are: Chiropractic Adjustment: By performing spinal manipulation, via movements or thrusts, chiropractors can move the involved joint. This helps create flexibility, strength and promotes recovery. Muscle Comfort and Muscle Stimulation: Using calm gentle stretches to the muscles that are affected, tension can be relieved. These stretches can also be combined with ‘finger pressure techniques’ on certain pressure points to alleviate pain. Exercises: A variety of stretches and exercises can help decrease the symptoms associated with whiplash and neck pain.
What Is Functional Medicine? What is it and why do we need it? Functional medicine is an evolution in the practice of medicine that better addresses the healthcare needs of the 21st century. By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of medical practice to a more patient-centered approach, functional medicine addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. Functional medicine practitioners spend time with their patients, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease. In this way, functional medicine supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual. By changing the disease-centered focus of medical practice to this patient-centered approach, our physicians are able to support the healing process by viewing health and illness as part of a cycle in which all components of the human biological system interact dynamically with the environment. This process helps to seek and identify genetic, lifestyle, and environmental factors that may shift a person’s health from illness to well-being. Why Do We Need Functional Medicine? Our society is experiencing a sharp increase in the number of people who suffer from complex, chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, mental illness, and autoimmune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis. The system of medicine practiced by most physicians is oriented toward acute care, the diagnosis and treatment of trauma or illness that is of short duration and in need of urgent care, such as appendicitis or a broken leg. Unfortunately, the acute-care approach to medicine lacks the proper methodology and tools for preventing and treating complex, chronic disease. There’s a huge gap between research and the way doctors practice. The gap between emerging research in basic sciences and integration into medical practice is enormous—as long as 50 years— particularly in the area of complex, chronic illness. Most physicians are not adequately trained to assess the underlying causes of complex, chronic disease and to apply strategies such as nutrition, diet, and exercise to both treat and prevent these illnesses in their patients. How Is Functional Medicine Different? What is it and why do we need it? How is Functional Medicine Different? Functional medicine involves understanding the origins, prevention, and treatment of complex, chronic disease. Hallmarks of a functional medicine approach include: Patient-centered care. The focus of functional medicine is on patient-centered care, promoting health as a positive vitality, beyond just the absence of disease. An integrative, science-based healthcare approach. Functional medicine practitioners look “upstream” to consider the complex web of interactions in the patient’s history, physiology, and lifestyle that can lead to illness. The unique genetic makeup of each patient is considered, along with both internal (mind, body and spirit) and external (physical and social environment) factors that affect total functioning. Integrating best medical practices. Functional medicine integrates traditional Western medical practices with what are sometimes considered “alternative” or “integrative” medicine, creating a focus on prevention through nutrition, diet, and exercise; use of the latest laboratory testing and other diagnostic techniques; and prescribed combinations of drugs and/or botanical medicines, supplements, therapeutic diets, detoxification programs, or stress-management techniques. Why Do We Need Functional Medicine? Our society is experiencing a sharp increase in the number of people who suffer from complex, chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, mental illness, and autoimmune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis. The system of medicine practiced by most physicians is oriented toward acute care, the diagnosis and treatment of trauma or illness that is of short duration and in need of urgent care, such as appendicitis or a broken leg. Physicians apply specific, prescribed treatments such as drugs or surgery that aim to treat the immediate problem or symptom. Unfortunately, the acute-care approach to medicine lacks the proper methodology and tools for preventing and treating complex, chronic disease. In most cases it does not take into account the unique genetic makeup of each individual or factors such as environmental exposures to toxins and the aspects of today’s lifestyle that have a direct influence on the rise in chronic disease in modern Western society. There’s a huge gap between research and the way doctors practice. The gap between emerging research in basic sciences and integration into medical practice is enormous—as long as 50 years—particularly in the area of complex, chronic illness. Exercise for Overall Health & Its Importance Incorporating exercise into our days helps augment and manage our health, fitness, and wellness, primarily because of its ability to balance the levels of insulin within the body. Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas which triggers the body to use sugar, or glucose, from carbohydrates in the food we eat to produce energy as well as store glucose for future use. Another major benefit of participating in regular physical activity is its capacity to boost the immune system. Exercising can alter the function in antibodies and white blood cells where these begin to circulate quicker to detect illnesses rapidly. Physical exercise can also help reduce stress because it boosts the production of endorphins in the brain, neurotransmitters in charge of making you feel good. Other great benefits of exercise include weight control and improved eating habits, increasing good cholesterol, HDL, in the body and decreasing triglyceride levels, which can increase the risk of heart disease. Regular physical activity can help prolong life as it reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke and improves and promotes a good sense of well-being. Exercises specifically focused toward strengthening musculoskeletal weaknesses and imbalances can enhance and speed up the recovery process for individuals who’ve suffered an injury and have started medical treatment. Viewing exercise as a necessary part of your day can help many people build a habit to exercise. Making an exercise schedule can ideally be a good way to keep it in track. The good thing about exercise is that there are a wide variety of types, some which can be done in a minimum amount of time while still providing maximum results. Exercise is beneficial for people of all ages as it enhances and maintains overall health, physical fitness, and wellness. Following a regular exercise routine as part of your lifestyle can offer your body tremendous benefits. However, in today’s world, many people struggle to find the appropriate opportunity during their busy schedules to participate in physical activities. It’s crucial to keep in mind though that exercise should be just as important for an individual’s day as eating, sleeping, and breathing. Attaining Overall Health Naturally If you’re a person with a sedentary lifestyle, exercising more will bring many benefits for improving your health. Engaging in physical activity helps burn calories, preventing excess weight gain and supports weight loss. Exercise also stimulates several chemical reactions in the brain that can boost your mood as well as relieve stress, making you feel happier and more relaxed. In case you have a busy schedule, including physical activity into your day can be simple, for example, instead of using the elevator, consider taking the stairs. You will burn more calories this way and ultimately improve your health. Also, walking more often can be a great way to add exercise into your routine. When picking a parking space at work or when stopping at the grocery store, choose a distant spot from the door, this way you will walk more and get some physical activity into your day. Following a balanced nutrition is also a great way to improve your health. Adding more quality food into your diet, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as reducing the amount of processed foods you consume will benefit your overall wellness. A proper diet together with an exercise routine can help maintain a healthy weight. Eating vitamin and mineral rich foods while avoiding fats, sugars, and salts can help avoid heart disease and hypertension from developing. It’s important to also reduce your intake of caffeine and sugar. While both caffeine and sugar can provide instant highs of energy, the effects are only temporary and can often lead to a crash in mood and energy. By reducing the amount of coffee, soft drinks, chocolate, and sugary snacks from your diet, you will feel more relaxed and avoid any unnecessary energy crashes. Proper nutrition is essential to improve and maintain your health. Hydration, along with a good diet and physical activity, is also very important for your health. Drinking the appropriate amount of water necessary for each individual has many benefits on the body. Most importantly, the body requires water for the majority of its functions and without proper hydration, the body may not function to its fullest capacity. Water can also assist with weight loss. Try to increase your water intake throughout your day, by substituting a sugary beverage for water at least once. For individuals who don’t favor plain water, consider adding lemons or limes to enhance the flavor. You can also try eating more water-rich foods such as watermelon, which is 92% water.
