Description
Hospice El Paso is a nonprofit community-based organization. It provides palliative care for pediatric and adult patients with a wide range of illnesses, including AIDS, cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Its services include medical care, pain management, nursing care, medication, personal care assistance, counseling, chaplain support and funeral planning assistance. It also offers bereavement counseling, crisis management and support and guidance during illness and death. The organization is licensed by the State of Texas and is certified by Medicare and Medicaid. It is also accredited by the Joint Commission on Accredidation of Healthcare Organizations. Its hospice team consists of physicians, nurses, attendants, a social worker, volunteers, a chaplain, a bereavement counselor, a medical director and consulting therapists.
